Carnival - A Streetwear Loft for Bangkok

Bangkok’s original streetwear authorities, Carnival partnered with Whitespace for the design of their brand flagship in the heart of Bangkok’s trendy Siam Square. The new, spacious store concept that presents street fashion as an art form.

Siam Square is a retail district directly adjacent to Thailand’s oldest and most prestigious university, Chulalongkorn. Although it has some of the most valuable retail real estate in the country, it is also known as a place to discover young designers, and has launched the careers of several who when on to International acclaim. The square is made up of traditional Thai shophouses, with a majority of shops having externally facing storefronts.

Blurring the boundary between gallery and fashion boutique- the two level shop presents apparel, footwear alongside artworks in a minimal, spacious environment. White dominates, with concrete floors and a white steel staircase, like an industrial sculpture, connects customers with the sneaker floor along with a two story mural by Thai street artist Alex Face. Customer’s selections are sent to the first floor cashier by way of a sneaker-chute direct from the stock room.

Carnival keep close relations with their ‘fans’ via social media. The flagship is designed to serve as the perfect platform for an omni-channel, multimedia relationship with their customer ‘fan base’.
