J&B Headquarters

Whitespace Architects and Interior Retail Design specialists collaborated to create a signature headquarters building for J&B’s- projecting their leadership position in the Thai salon Industry.

Serving the dual functions of headquarters offices and multi-floor retail outlet- our designers created a landmark building with an atrium-like the prow of a ship projecting retail at the lower levels. Located in the centre of Bangkok, on one of its busiest thoroughfares – J&B’s headquarters is a three-dimensional marketing statement to the city.

Consideration for the tropical context- sunscreens became a design feature for the southern street-facing facade. Like a fabric sail- a laser-cut aluminium unfurls above the ship’s prow with custom perforation creating a translucent effect. While dramatically reducing the solar gain to the office floors, it allows views from the inside out throughout the day.
