Central Village Food Park

Food Village is the food hall area for the newest open-air outlet centre- Central Village in the Bangkok suburb of Dok Mai, Thailand. The Interior design concept is seen as a gathering hall for the community. An open indoor courtyard simulates a market back in the days where people from the village and traders gather, buy and sell fresh produce and homemade meals, ranging from Thai food, Thai desserts to international food.

The tone is warm with wood finish, a slight contrast with a concrete floor to simulate the actual outdoor market. Lots of large trees are placed to give a sense of outdoor greenery feel with light and shadow cast through the leaves. Additionally, the shapes, forms and colour palette that we use are inspired from things that are commonly used when preparing meals such as Thai weave basket, and the shape and colour of Thai desserts, the colour of Thai spices and colour of natural dried food. We want to take something so ordinary and elevated them to pattern, form and colour that carry throughout the food hall.
